mk1 16v conversion

Hi guys im new to the site im on the look for a mk1 GTI cabrio im thinking of doing a 2.0 or a 1.8 16v conversion can you guys tell me whats best whats involved and what will i need i assume i will need engine/gearbox engine loom and ecu and ancillaries is there any other parts neded for the conversion
