mk 1 loom

hey got a f reg caddy, put a gti lump in, bt the loom i got with it does not fit my fusse box. got a gti loom off a early mk2 with the right plug bt it has a few extra wires will it work or should i use my loom and the mk2's plug? any ideas cheers 8)

Normally easier to get a matching engine loom and fusebox and then adapt the rest of the car's loom to fit.
