Lowering springs

hi guys
Im new to the forum and im just wondering if anyone could help me. Im looking to use lowering springs to lower my mk1 (not enough funds for coilovers) does anyone happen to know how low i can actually go, on 13's with 45 profile tyres without scraping speed bumps  :dontknow: any help would be much appreciated!

if your just using springs to lower then I assume any lower than say 60 odd mm (normall max that just a spring set will go) woulod be a bad idea anyway.  In fact I beleive that anyhting under 35 odd mm is a bad idea without matching uprated/shortened dampers  :?
