Lower 4 point brace fowling gear box

Hi folks, my mk1 resto is nearing the end, just few niggly things/probs to sort out

One of those is that my brace is fowling the box

It's o2a cable change box and it actualy sits on the brace

Is this common problem if it is a problem at all?

Not bothered about vibrations as it is full on track car, as long as it doesnt cause any problems

Any advice?

you could try the 2 point brace I guess?

Take the strut brace off fit engine and cable box then see what fits or needs adjusting   :dontknow:

Engine and box is in now, thats how i found out it's not fitting properly

Box is actualy sitting on top of the brace

Guess i'l need one that kinks down on both ends to create more space

Or will it be ok as it is?

Box is'nt putting much weight on it as the rear mount is taking nearly all the weight

dont leave the box sitting on it it may be ok at first but it will cause you all kind of problems eventually  :cry:

What kind of problems should i expect to have?

Serious vibrations and knocking noises for one!!!

well no more nasty vibrations as i'v got it sorted

Some carefull shaping with a lump hammer soon made some clearance without reducing the strength of the brace
