Light and grill change

I have a Cabbi clipper that has the 4 lights in the grill.

I want to change this to just 2 lights.  Is it just a case of disconnecting the othe middle 2?

Also can someone explain to a beginner what this wiring loom ppl talk about actually does and is it easy to fit?

Cheers

yes it s a case of just disconnecting the spots, as for the loom, it to prevent voltage drop, caused by bad design by VW, tis is the best one i have seen, as it looks like a VAG one

Good man!

It all looks quite simple!  Something tells me it won't be though!

Not to butt in or anything, but if you disconnect the other two spots wont you loose full beam?

Just that I'm also thinking of doing this.

Single lamps

i changed mine, all i did was unplug the inner lamps fromm the loom and fit the new grill. it hasnt affected full beams, on mine, as the full beams are not active throught the inner spots. i done mine about six months ago and everything seems fine.
