Kr engine

Hey guys I'm having problems timing up my kr engine . I had it running with all marks lined up. But I needed to put new belt on but now I can't line all the marks up. I've even tried putting old belt back on with no joy. I've search google n forums for a step by step but can't seem to find 1 . My main problem is when I tighten the tentioner the bottem end moves :(
Spent few hours now pulling my hair out lol

Do you have the tensioner fitted the right way round?

If its moving, can you do a 'trial' tension-up, see how much it moves by, then figure out how many teeth its out by. Then loosed it up, click along the required number of teeth, and tighten it up again.

I don't think you'll get it perfect, you'll be half a tooth out at the worst. Just flip a coin and decide which way you want it. One will give you slightly more torque at lower revs and less at higher; the other, the reverse. Whatever you do, once you've tensioned it, turn the engine over a couple of times as a sanity check that you're done it right, before you try starting it on the starter motor - and check the timing marks again.

Hi,

Out of curiosity which mark on the gearbox are you lining up with?

Thanks Paddy
