the question should be wats involved
from wat i understand you pretty much have to replave most off the engine internals. it may be easier to find a 1.4 t out off a diff car and 'drop' it in

you just need the manifold with a flange for the turbo take off and oil pipes and some other bits and bobs, you will need to uprate the fuel pump too, its not "easy" but can be done to vitually any car on the planet
yes and you will also need to lower the engine compression and uprate the pistons ect ect
by the time youve got all the bits and done you could have dropped a 1.8t in the car

You could leave the engine internals alone and keep the setup simpler doing it that way and itd be perfectly driveable as long as theres no inherent weakness in the internals themselves.
Lets face it, a 1.4 is never gonna set the world on fire, but with a few psi boost itll certainly liven up the ride a little..
