interior seats

hi have a mk1 golf in mars red, have had a recent re spray looks awesome and the whole car is running lovely… but i feel i want to change the interior bucket seats maybe …

any ideas????

Bucket seats are an easy change - simple way is to get an old set of seats doesn't have to be gti any mk1 seat will do

Take the seat material and foam from the base and braze off the metal sheet with holes in it that spans the bit where you sit.

Then if you turn your bucket seats upside down you will see there are four mounting points.

Now you need to position the bucket seat on the base and note the location.

Now span from left to right with some flat iron at the front and back of the seat base and have it welded in place bore the holes and set your bucket seat on and screw in the bolts.

Basically you are using the seat base as a cradle for the bucket seat - which means you can maintain the back and forward adjustability and also the ability to go back to ordinary seats!

We did this about a year ago really simple when you get started
