inlet manifold help

hi all I am new on here and would like some help I have just bought a mk1 golf gti 1800 8v karmann and am looking at tuning it. I have been offered a polished throttle body from a Audi 80  and the Inlet manifold from the audi too that has been polished etc. What I wnt to know is will the inlet manifold from the audi fit?

If i remember correctly the Audi inlet will not fit , the throttle body will but you will have to open out the MK1 inlet manifold using grinders dremel etc to accept the wider inlet ports , the bolt holes are the same .

Used to be a 'how to' link on the site but i can't find it ?

Cheers …………

I would not do this mod in isolation.
At the same time I would add a WUR that has the fuel enrichment capability when the throttle is pressed hard, like the 16v mk2 ones. Also gives you the opportunity to tweak the control pressure for better fueling, you will need a fuel pressure gauge to set this - commonly known as the "WUR" mod.

Cheers,
Ade
