MAte did you sort your injectors out, I'm needing new ones and wouldn't mind putting porche ones in for better performance.

Let me know please.

I don't have firm evidence either way, but it seems to me that fitting higher-flow injectors without increasing the airflow (more CCs, N2O, turbo, or supercharging) will just give you an over-rich mixture.

To get more power, you need more air (or more oxygen in that air) to match any increase in fuel…

I thought the reason for new injectors is that in high power scenarios, your 'top end' power goes funny and the engine leans out, due to the upper limit of the injector flowrate. So you put bigger injectors in. You could simply adjust the mixture again after fitting different injectors? Then the air mass sensor would always try and match the correct air/fuel ratio (and with the new injectors are okay at the top end too). Your higher capacity, or longer duration cam, or turbocharger is stuffing more air in as planned…..

InjectorSize = (HorsePower * BSFC) / (#Injectors * DutyCycle)

*BSFC is the amount of fuel your engine uses to make 1 horsepower for one hour. It is usually between 0.42 and 0.58 at wide open throttle. Normally aspirated engines with efficient combustion processes are at the lower end of the BSFC scale [~0.45], supercharged engines tend to be towards the higher end [~0.55].

Careful on oversizing injectors though as you will loose the fine tuning capability at low loads/revs .

I tried using Porsche parts on a standard 8v engine , diddly squat , hassle etc etc , so now running back as it should be [the bits were free so i had to have a go]. Standard engine stick with the way VW intended , modified and you have plenty of money then there are loads of tuning firms out there who will advise . The blerb at the top was sent to me when i enquired about larger injectors , i still DO NOT understand it  8O

Cheers………..
