i want to fit mk3 box in my mk1 golf

i want to fit a mk3 gearbox in my mk1 golf wat gear linkage do i use

What engine size do you have?  Is it to go cable change or like for like box?

i have no engine or box in the car but want to fit small engine so i can insure it what engine and box do u recomend.

For insurance reasons then the mk1 golf 1100 or maybe 1300 engine and box is the one to go for, with everyone removing them to fit something else shoulb be easy to pick one up.

Mk2 polos ran the 1100 & 1300s, the engine and box will fit straight in a mk1, wiring's very slightly different but shouldnt cause too much headaches.  Was the car originally a 1.1 or 1.3? If so the original linkage will fit the polo box.

5 speed box not a direct fit, you need to make a gearbox bracket using half a 5 speed polo mount and half a mk1 mount. driver side chassis engine mount bracket differs between big & small block so as above what was it originally
