I think I'm going crazy just to fit wheels ARGHH HELP PLEASE

Well, I recently bought a 1980 Golf GL with only 35000 kms on it. IT's in collector conditions and I want to fit 16" Fuchs wheels on it but without exceptional mods, 2 with 6j" and 2 with 7j" at the rear.
Like the car at pic: http://www.flickr.com/photos/retromotoring/3567605996/in/photostream/

I bought the wheels and found the adapters at H&R but it's really horrible. At the rear The 7j" wheels stay so much displaced. So how can I fit the wheels and keep em as the car at the picture??? Can I fit Porsche brakes??? I want to modify without great or special job. It's a VERY ORIGINAL AND SPECIAL CAR. How can I do that??

Thanks for help.

Very original normally means dont mess with it  Assume your allready on coliys, so will depend really on what width and ET are are rims back/front, tyre profile and what size mm adaptors you use? Prob worth getting some pics up too...when u say displaced...whats not to your taste then?

Exactly. It's not my taste ;-) I want exactly the same as you see at the picture. At the front there no problem with adapters but the 2,5 cm i displace the wheel at the rear because of adapter is a shit. How can i fit the wheels with the original drums?? Maybe I can find some drums with Porsche bolt size???

Whats the rear wheel et mate? sounds like you just want a different size spacer to reduce it sticking out as much and get it back in line, under the arch

I'm just guessing here mate, but my rear porker rims wouldnt fit the drilled hub route as would hit the strut so clearence could be a issue too

A GOOD engineering shop should be able to do this for you, but this sort of work is not something they would normally do and would probably be a cash in hand job for someone while on their lunch break!

See if you can find someone willing to do it, then buy a set of used drums of Ebay or something and let them drill those.
