help choosing engine conversion for gti trackcar

i am building a trackcar out of my gti and i have two engines in my garage but cant deceide which to use, could do with some rational thinking.the car is currently running a big valve head and cam so i got a 3a block to go under it which i planned to rebuild before fitting, i then thought if i am rebuilding it i may as well go all out and put in forged pistons and a set of rods and then logically i thought i may as well lower the compression and i bought a rotrex charger and emerald management...in for a penny and all that! thing is i have also got a 30k agu that would be far more straight forward and handle more than enough power as is...but i cant help but feel it is too modern a route to power and the car should be approached in an old school stylee and the charger fits the bill a little better.also i can go 2.1 at the same time! or of course i could be totally differeft and put the rotrex on the agu?!? aaaaaghhh help!cheers roy
