Gti in tank fuel sender same as carbed engine sender unit?

as the title says really
is the in tank fuel sender the same as the ones from a carbed cabby engine.
i currently have a cabby which was originally carburettored and now im doing a 1.8t swap
just need to know if i need to swap the whole unit or will it be OK to just change the pumps.

help would be much appreciated.

also as a side note, the engine ive put in is an aeb which was originally in a mk1 caddy and the
crank breather hose that comes out of the block. does this need a catch tank as the port on
my rocker cover is blocked off. or would it be ok to just leave it hanging as im guessing its just to release any excess pressure along with some oil vapour?

cheers guys

you will need a post-84 cab/rocco or g40 shape polo lift pump assembly and plastic fuel reservoir.

alternatively fit a mk1 gti tintop tank, but i dont know if it will fit your cabby properly if its post-84. i think it will if you also get the straps from the donor car.

then a mk1 gti fuel pump, convert it to push fit fuel lines with a m12x1.5 barbed banjo adaptor for 7-8mm fuel hose. then replace all the fuel lines under the car for rubber fuel injection stuff, you might find plastic lines from golf mk2/3 or g40 shape polo are a good fit
