Golf Driver -> GTi
I've just bought an immaculate Mk1 Driver 1.3 and the who i bought it off has made it look like a gti. It is such a great body that i'd love to carry on with his work. I've read a lot about the bits i need. But i want to know about the engine mounts. What has to be changed?
I know i'm looking at these changes too.
fuel tank
rear axle (need a rear anti-roll bar) and rear suspension springs/dampers
front suspension springs/dampers
front anti-roll bar
front vented brake discs & calipers
rear brake compensator
swap rear wheel cylinders
fuel pump, fuel accumulator, fuel lines
exhaust system
brake servo
Any other suggestions, but mainly the engine mounts?
Like i say it's such a great example that i think it's worth the effort

Paul! That's great. Very much appreciated. I know all the advice is to start with a GTi, but this Driver is perfect.
Thanks again

Re: Golf Driver -> GTi
you will also need to change the steering rack as it has the mounting on it for the gear linkage. i converted my 1.3 driver to a gti i last year, if the shells good its worth doing!
