gearbox

i have a mk1, 1300cc, 4speed driver. and i was wondering if a gear box of a mk2 1800cc 8v would fit, as the 4 speed is awfull on the motorways. and dosnt like going ova 60mph??

All the Polo boxes fit. I've got a mk4 box in mine.

so is it a straight swap then or do i have to mess about with drive shafts or out???
