G60

Just bought a corrado G60 with the intention of using it whilst my mk1 is getting restored, then i`m having the engine out and other bit and pieces and putting them into the mk1.  The problem i`m having at the moment is sourcing a rebuild kit for the supercharger.  The previous owner has never had the charger serviced and although it is boosting well i need to do this asap.  Can anyone advise where i can get any of these parts from?  The companies that rebuild and service them are not willing to sell me the kit and all the motor factors i have tried say they cant get the parts so i`m getting a little worried about it now.  If its got to the point where parts are no longer available i might have to go down the 20V turbo route.  Can anyone help me out with this please?

Hi mate, here is a list of the seal and bearing numbers your will require.

Bearings
1 x  10-6879A     ?35
1 x  6304            ?5
1 x  6002 2RS      ?4.06
1 x  6003 2RS      ?4.27
1 x  NU202E         ?15.88

Seals
1 x  30x52x7              ?2.35
2 x  30x42x6              ?2.03
1 x  30x45x6 R23        ?2.03
1 x  20x35x7 R4          ?1.86

All these bearings and seals are standard items and are available through your local bearing shop and will be top quality. Most bearing shops wont deal in crap. Much cheaper than buying the bearings from any expensive specialist.

The apex strips are available through Jabba Sport, along with a new timing belt and  re-manufactured sealing ring.

When re- building the supercharger seal the two halves together with hylomar liquid gasket.

Hope this was helpful for you.

Just found this website www.simplybearings.co.uk who can supply all the bearings apare from the 10-6879A. But I am sure if you contact them they will be able to get it for you. The bearing is made by Timken or Torrington. That will help them a lot.

Really appreciate that guys, thanks a lot.  Ill be on the case tomorrow as im off work for another week and a half.  Cant stop driving the corrado at the minute!  Will have to just start stripping it tomorrow so it cant be driven!  I had considered a chip and a pulley but then decided as its so original i dont want to mess with it.  Im considering investing in a better intercooler though if there is such a thing available?  Would be a nice way of gaining a few more horses i think without overstressing things.

I have the Radtec intercooler and Rad setup, it is neat, works very well and designed for the MK1 bay.

Not the cheapest option but I am very pleased with it.
