Fuel pump blanking plate.

Do any of the Injection engines have a fuel pump blanking plate on? I need one as im up grading to a pacet fuel pump and need rid of the mech one.

Not quite sure what you mean by fuel pump blanking plate… The fuel pump (on injection cars at least) sits just in front of the off side rear wheel… Fuel lines then run from tank > pump > accumulator > filter (next to metering head) > metering head > fuel tank (return)…

I imagine the facet (i think you mean 'f'acet) pump will be a direct replacement… :dontknow:

Well sailor mine has a mechanical fuel pump as all carbed engines, and the fuel pump is located on the block next to the oil cooler/ filter mounting, and I wish to get rid of it and assumed the gti engine would use a electic fuel pump and wondered how the hole in the engine was taken care of. Hence a blanking plate??

The fuel pump I am awaiting im a Facet red top pump and will be located on the under side of the car nest to the fuel tank.

Well sailor, seeing as you didn't specify that you were running carbs, I looked at your sig & assumed you had a fuel injected car.

No offence  mean by 'sailor' I used to say 'captain' but changed it!!

if its an 8v then yes because on the gti injection models the warm up reg sits on top of the blanking plate thatr ur on bout

If it's the same dimensions as a GM 1.8 OHC from the Astra or Manta, I've got a few spare. Give me some measurements and I'll let you know.

Im not sure of the dimensions, it the weird little plate with two off center holes!!

I know thats not much help but I've not got an old fuel pump I can measure!!

the blanking plate you are looking for is on the PB engined gti uesd one last year when i changed the mechanical pump on my clipper for a electric one hope it helps     adi

eas dubstar! i just lobd my old gti block down the tip! and it had the blanking plate on!!!      i would of lobd it in an envolope and posted it up to u but i was a bit slow on reading this post, sorry dude,
just go down scrappy and 5 finger discount one of a mk2 gti or something similar
