fitting audi throttle 8v gti

Hi. I am looking into doing this but can't find enough information on it. Which throttle housing will fit the golf gti 8v? How much power increase can i expect and is there any modifications needed to get it to fit? Thanks.

I'm learning as i'm going so forgive me people if some questions seem stupid. I now have seen i can you the mk2 8v and 16v throttle body which i can get hold of pretty easily. Here comes a maybe stupid question so forgive me, my mk1 is injection not carb so can i use the throttle body off a mk2 carb?

MK2 golf gti throttle body is same size as the audi one everyone raves about, might be easier to find though not 100% sure if its the same layout as the audi one, think it is.

mk2 carb is well, carb. so that wont work will it

find an old audi 2.8, the throttle body bolts on, for maximum effect port the manifold and body to match. tis the best cheap mod u can make. hope that helps

It is only really effective if you use the Audi WUR at the same time, it has a vacuum triggered enrichment device, so that banging open your larger second butterfly is accompanied with a little more fuel…

as i said, the audi ones are the same as mk2 gti, so dont waste your time trawling ebay/scrappies for random hard to find audis when there are loads of mk2 gtis about. also you don't need to hunt for an audi WUR either, just use a MK2 16v one.

But keep in mind that the MK2 16V cold and hot pressures are not correct for the 8V, so you will need to measure and configure them to suit your car.

same goes for the audi, or in fact any wur you fit ideally as no telling if they're in good nick

mine works without the wur, maybe itd be quicker with it. dunno, but stand by what i say.cheapest quick mod. and easiest. ref 1/4mile thread.x
