FASTEST 1.4i
I drive a 2007 Velocity 1.4i and would like to become the fastest normally aspirated 1.4i in S.A.
The car is already fitted with a K&N induction kit, Wildcat branch and freeflow exhaust. Ive fitted a 272 degree cam from STK and a Unichip by SAC. What else can be done?

flowed cyclinder head;
forged rods;
forged pistons;
ported manifolds;
nitrous;
mechanical lifters;
either bigger injectors OR bike carbs.
bigger injectors are much easier to do (and will go hand in hand with a re-map)
BUT bike carbs enable more fun to be had with inlet and induction.

You could drop it out a plane. It'd definately be the fastest, just not for very long!

I didnt think of it that way. Im pretty sure if you did do that there wouldn't be many more people wanting to try and beat it

tbh i onlu thought 17 yr olds try to make 1.4's fast anyone older can just afford the car with a bigger engine to start with, unless like bert said above its just not cost effective,

If you are actually planning on putting 2.0l 16V in later anyway you are wasting money surely?
What do you want the fastest 1.4 in the country. Surely no-one else will care? Or is it for motor sport engine size restrictions?

engine size restrictions make sense, and that was what i was thinking he/she might be after but surely he/she would say this to start with, with no disrespect i sometimes think when people wont to mod a 1.2 or eqauly small, i sometimes think back to my nova days where i was not capible off of a engine transplant, and often refered to i'm going to drop a red top in later,
and i would search golare for that magical mod that cost nothing and bolted on in ten mins and would make the car go like the clappers
