engine swap cabby gl1.6-gti 1.8

is it an easy job to change all the fuel system and ecu ect from the gti to the gl 1.6? :dontknow:

if you cant fix it then its broke

Which GTI? The Mk1 GTI doesn't have an ECU, if its a later Digifant it will do (but its not a particularly complicated one). The main hassle would be fuelling (supplying high pressure fuel) but also the need to upgrade suspension, brakes, etc is there too.

thanks for the advice paul,    buddy, ive already turned down the car and am now gonna view a campain!, i looked about on the net last night trying to find an engine,got fed up and sacked it!.
i recon once the campain is up and runnin il give that to the missus and cocerntrate on getting my 1.8t on the rd….hopefully it'll  be on the road some time this century!!.  take it steady mate.    ed.
