engine swap

i swaped my mk1 1.8 8v for a 1.6d out of a caddy its all in running sweet but when you drive for aronud ten mins it judders and then cuts out to a stand still, if you leave it half hour or so your off again for another ten mins before it cuts out any ideas please.  :dontknow:
