engine conversion

hi guys i have a 1981 golf 1.1 c which i am about to convert to 1.6 gti spec i have already bought the doner car [1982gti1.6] and was wondering what5 advice you guys have for me as i am tackling the job myself i have been told that the mountain on the chasis leg will have to be moved and i am aware that i will have to change the box as well some ones also said that i will have to chantge the steering rack is this true?anyadvice will be greatly appreciated thanks

You will also have to change the fuel tank and fuel lines and I think add the mountings for the fuel distributor, electric fuel pump, accumulator, wiring for same etc etc

The steering rack is the same on 1.1 models and 1.6 GTI's so you won't need to change it unless it has some other problem (worn out, etc)
