mk2 golf/jetta are no good becasue the fusebox is on the wrong side of the car, though if you can find somewhere to mount it under the driver side then it'll fit, but you'll have to drill holes for the engien and lighting looms thru the bulkhead.

post-82 mk1 golf rear loom is what you want for an easy life, cabrio will work but the lighting plugs will need splicing on from the old loom plus there is no rear wiper on them. scirocco would be close again prob have to mess with the rear light plugs not sure what they have.

dash and bay looms anything post-82 golf and cabrio will be fine, obv you want engien loom from a diesel for an easy life again but its pretty simple so you probably wont have any issues converting a petrol loom.

the alternative is get a fusebox with all the plugs chopped off and splice to your old looms, if the wires are in good condition. if you go that route i would recommend 90spec mk2/3 ce2 fusebox as the pins are readily available, though you'll need a good crimping tool. or just splice wires again
