Electric window kit

Hi All,
Looking to put a set of 6x9 speakers in the doors of my Caddy which will mean converting to electric windows (not enough 'swipe' room for the winders).
Does anyone have any good/bad experience of aftermarket kits ?  Alternatively, does anyone know of a factory system that would do the job (ie, from another VW/Audi or other model ???).
If anyone should have a kit for sale then please PM me ! (I'll put an ad in the wanted section as well)
Any advice / info gratefully received.
Cheers,
Mark.

I've got an aftermarket kit installed on my black golf - not bad but i had to figure how to wire the switches up cos whoever installed it didn't do it properly.

Make sure the window channels are in good nick and the windows move freely with no binding.

I think it mught be a Toad make but not sure

Cheers. I had been looking at cheapo kits, but think they may be more trouble than they're worth. Will probably try a kit from a decent supplier if I can't get a factory set-up (VAG or other) to fit. Trouble is, the Caddy's only supposed to be a work-horse so don't really want to spend a fortune on it. Hmmmm, what best to do ?!?

Hi mate i have a full VAG set up from a early (quarter light) mk2, all excellent condition.
Includes
2 x motors and regulators for doors
2 x switches inc. loom and centre console
this must be able to fit a mk1, any one know?

Sounds good if I could get it to fit. Anyone know how different Mk1 and Mk2 window mechanisms are ???  I presume your's are from a 3 door (?) The Caddy has the same doors as a 5 door Mk1, so not much room to play with. I don't mind a bit of 'fabrication' mind you……..

Mark

Hi there,

I think I'm sorted now, thanks. Found a Spal kit 2nd hand. Have yet to test them - hope they work!

Cheers,

Mark
