Early Cabby - can I add power steering?
Hi folks,
Its been a while since I posted owt and now I'm asking a question on someone elses behalf!? ops:
Early Golf Cabby; is it possible to retro-fit power steering? My mate doesn't want to part with his baby but if he doesn't retro-fit powere steering so the mrs can drive then he's screwed and the for sale boards are going up!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys and gals!! :dontknow:
Just for the record….my G60 Mk1 is nearly there! Getting back from paint this week….street sleeper coming to a road in the midlands soon!!! 8)

keep the car dump the bird, i dont like power steering, i like to struggle with 3 point turns, plus the pump only works up to 15-25 mph then shuts off otherwise it would be very unstable and dangerous,
i only found that out when i was at citroen and a bloke brougt his car in!!

the corsa EPS unit is fully adjustable, u can leave it heavy for normal driving and when you need to park you can make it really light, ive just had my control boxws turn up today and it works a treat!!

Im sure its not that easy as if it was TSR would have used mk2 rack instead of having to use a nissan rack when they introduced mk1 conversion kit. i suspect mk2 rack is actually too wide and may cause bumpsteer. of course can use associated parts ie pump, brackets.
