Diesel Conversion

Hi . I have a 1983 Golf Converable Auto in great condition and I want to know what is the best and easiest diesel engine to fit into it.

either a 1.9 AAZ out of a mk3 golf

or a 1.6 GTD engine out of a mk2 golf or passat

just doing the 1.6 conversion myself

Thanks for help. Are both engines similar in difficulty. What engine did you use. Any information wil be much appreciated. Is it a big job with peddles and servo and gearbox etc.

i think they are both the same to swop really

change the engine mount over and attach the mk1 gearbox

think there will be some wiring as yours is a petrol model and you need glowplugs things like that
