Couple of quickies!!

What gearbox is the best option to run with a S3 engine (BAM)?
Are these engines a reasonably straight forward swap?
I really want to keep the car standardish looking so is it poss to keep the original clocks etc?
Cheers, i think my headache is clearing of what to do and if the answers to these questions are what i hope theyll be, this is the way ill be heading!!

Im running an AWT engine with all standard clocks and a mk3 8v gti rod change gearbox with a helix clutch, the diff has had all rivets replaced with bolts and has been fine for the past year of daily abuse.

inside it all looks stock gti apart from the boost gauge(which is in with my oil temp and pressure in the original center consol.

Im running the original ecu and loom all modified to fit.

So, yes it is do-able :mrgreen:

cheers mate, sounds good to me, is there any1 on here with the BAM conversion??as i believe these are mounted differently, ie transverse not longitudinally if thats a problem??!!
Im selling my Gli cabby soon and looking to purchase a VGC hardtop for the swap, got a mate at Midland VW who can help with the transplant, just gotta wait for the right one i guess, the engines not a prob to get hold of.
Ill be posting the cabby in the for sale section soon after the MOT this week, just a feeler if any1s after one, Cheers, Loz
