the only wiring you need for a diesel is to the starter.

tank should be ok because the main fuel pump for a diesel is on the front of the block..

you'll have it done in a day, nevermind a weekend!

Take it easy ; )

top bloke
are the fuel lines the same size or dont it make any diffrence, i take it the engines have the same feed for fuel being sucked from the front

Moved to "Modifications and Conversions" section as this is a conversion technical question and not general chat.  Keeping everything in it's place so that you get the best answer (the techy guys on here will be looking in technical   ).

Thanks,

James

you will also need the glow plug wiring too, petrol loom wont have rev counter feed from alternator either!

no reason to not swap the whole engine wiring loom over since you have complete donor, rather than mess about adapting petrol loom to suit a diesel lump.

I'm with you on the alternator - tacho wiring, but the glow plug wiring doesn't NEED to be there, though it will make cold mornings a lot easier!

Take it easy ; )

ja, may as well swap all de engine loom since donor is there and it'll take all of 10 minutes ;)

caddy stuff is no good, but the petrol tank and lines should be ok once you drain the petrol. just the engine loom, the lighting loom can stay. you'll need diesel clocks though otherwise the oil pressure warning wont work or the rev counter if you have one

there is a way to convert a petrol rev counter to diesel, but i will have to get back to you next week as the link is on my work pc. it involves resoldering some circuits on the rev counter pcb mind you

do you mean the horrible c clips? if so use an old exhaust clamp with the end swapped outside the nuts. buy new c clamps though!
