About ?450 roughly maybe more. I want the ones where you can adjust the dampening too?

Do these have height and dampening adjustment too? What is the maximum drop on the coilovers?

can't adjust the dampening but they drop 120mm all the round which is more than enough IMO and ride is surprisingly nice considerin its as low as it will go lol! just need to put my exhaust a bit higher so it doesn't catch on my drive

got avo's about 6 years ago and they are fucking shite. ally platforms and steel threads..they seize all the time, make sure the unit is made of the same material throughout or you'll have to clean them all the time.

also you will get bump steer to hell if you go too low. check that the inboard wishbone pivot point is not lower than the ball joint, this will happen if you go lower than 80mm (est) and your handling will go to shite. you'll also need to get laser alignment  (maybe difrnt w'bones +/ adj topmounts),cant quite remember) as the front camber will go massively positive and your tyres will last about a week.

id go for Weitecs, and if someone is peddling 200 quid coilovers theyre either made using slave labour or stolen. you REALLY dont get 'owt for nowt

all from bitter experience

p.s coiloveres ??can noone spell these days (sorry been browsing ebay a lot)

i got cheapies from bay an fitted em today

golf on 16"s on its botty. no scrubbige no problems with bumps handles mint an its a lot smoother than i thought it would be, tis a ta hard though.

check them from germany with ?200 buy it now or best offer

i offerd 145 he said neign then he took 160 (postage was 20) with a 2 year garentee.

i'd get new strut tops front and rear and new bolts too. had to cut the rears with the gas axe as the bottom bolts wouldnt budge with the air gun (only time its ever been beat)

buy em

itl be fine for posing, but on the limit or even near it will be hugely effected, you have completely changed the steering (and therefore driving, being fwd) geometry, if you get the car setup properly only then will you experience decent handling..and that may cost a lot more than your initial 200 bucks.
ill bet that half the slammed cars that end up on their roof are there because of poorly setup suspension

to be fair its only a 1300cc and i don't take it on the track and i don't really hoof it so for 200 quid i get the desired effect if i had a gti and wanted to go on track days i'd pay the extra but if these last longer than their gaurentee i'll be happy.

take it to someone who has a full on computerised tracking and camber set up(and knows how to use it) pay them about ?60 an hour and it will be fine

Bump steer is the front wheel steering as a result of a bump. As the suspension moves up and down the geometry of the front end is causing the front wheels to toe-in or toe-out. This can cause a kick in the steering wheel when travelling straight ahead and when you travel over a bump.

its all to do with the relationship between the steering rack and the track rod end,if the TRE is higher than the steering rack you will experience bump steer, the larger the difference the worse the reaction. the only way to combat this if you really want to slam it is to raise the steering rack or possibly change the TRE from mounting on  top of the hub to mounting on the bottom of the hub. :D
