Campaign Engine swap

Hi Folks,sorry I dont post often,I'm needing some advice for my Mrs Campaign,the engine is fecked,and I was wondering if it's worth putting a mk3 engine in,or is there alot of work involved.I can get one cheap,I also have the chance of a G60 engine,would this be worthwhile?
Any,and I mean any advice would be welcome

what exactly is wrong with the 1.8 campaign engine?

The G60 is an awesome converstion, but you will obviously lose the originality of the car.

regarding the mk3 engine, what engine is it? I am pretty sure engine mounts will have to be moved etc.

Cheers for the quick reply,I have been told the engine has broken top rings,but to be honest this is the 3rd time We've had bother with the engine,so if it's to come out I just fancy something different.
The cars not mega original anyway,so the G60 lump would be a good addition,I think 8)

Sorry should have said,that the other option is a 1993 2.0 gti Mk 3 lump
