Cabrio oil Gauges, what colour back light??

Hi guys, I am a Corrado driver, I have fitted Audi oil pressure, temperature & Battery voltage gauges to my car, as you can see in the pic below that back light of the gauges themselves are Orange and don't really fit in with the rest of the dash, the gauges themselves are sealed units and I don't feel like braking them apart to scrape off the orange film or what ever is in there, I have heard from friends that the similar gauges that came in some Mk1's and Cabrios were Green/white backlights?? Would you be able to confirm this for me?? Have found a set or 2 on ebay.com but want to be very sure before I go getting something posted over from the states. Can anyone confirm the light colour from Mk1/Cabrio gauges?

Green to match the dash. The VDOs (c1982 from and Audi) I have you can change the bulbs. I think later ones had plastic filters to choose from red or green :dontknow:

Right so cheers   , I have a set of VW ones on the way anyways with the oil temp gauge 50-150 degrees which will be better IMO. I have also found how-to guides for modifying gauges with the filter, if I have any more problems……out with the Dremal and the cutting disk  :?

i replaced the bulbs in mine for blue LEDs looks good too. i can get a set of three SUNPRO guages BNIB for ?35 posted if your interested.

I would pull the bulbs out of the unit an see if there is a orange filter on them or just in front of them.
If there is you will save your self from having to buy a new set.
