Cab Rear Seat In A Tintop

As the topic title says really.
Can any one give any info on what needs to be moded to make a rear cab bench fit in the hard top mk1.
Ive been told the base of the seat is a straight fit but am going to have trouble with the back support bench :dontknow:  ?

Ive seen a full sportline interior in a tin top before and the owner had to make a new brackets either side to compensate for the narrower rear seat

or weld a longer screw thread to the existing screws that clip into the rear seat??

You sometimes see Rado back seats in MK1s. Do a search for this and you maybe in luck with some crossover info. You will need to do a search though, you can't just wait for the answer to come to you.

With all respect T, I have looked for this on the net.
Unfortunately I have been unsuccessful, and I am however in the process of buying a set, I'm fully aware that the bench does not fit. When I came across this Topic, I thought I'd see if anybody had done the modifcation, so it would make my life easier..

GUESS I'LL JUST HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE ANSWER.

i have done the mod in my mk1 now!! just used a tintop frame and chopped and welded the cab seat… you will get left with corner spaces on each side of the seats as the cab seats are shorter then the tin top ones but once in i chopped up some cab rear quarter covers and trimmed them up to cover the gap.

hope this helps   :D

kind regards
