BMC Carbon dynamics airbox?
Hi i have just bought a BMC filter complete CDA but it is for a mk2 golf gti and mine being a 1990 gti 8v cabrio mk1 i was unsure if this would fit after finding out it was for a mk2 can you tel me if this would fit?

It won't fit, and there's nothing wrong with the original airbox anyway so even a proper Mk1 version, fitted, would do nothing.

depends, is it a digifant electronic fuel injection gti?
if it is then yes it will. tbf there is plenty wrong with standard airboxes, they aren't bad for standard and i have seen an awful lot worse!
they are fine for a non-tuned car though!

The easiest way is to look up your engine code, from the V5.

the giveaway with the types of injection is:
lots of stainless braided hoses from the airbox behind the battery means you have k-jetronic mechanical injection and it wont fit.
If you have a plastic airbox to the drivers side with four bolts connecting the airbox to the engine pipework then yes it will fit.
