Big Bumper mk1? pics...??
Here a little p/shop i did in paint..ok so it aint a good one but still you get the idea plus it took me ages so your gonna see my handy work! IMO it gives the mk1 a more 'up to date' look. I've been down the 'old school' road and for me its boring as hell, you see every other mk1 with chrome bumps and small wheels.. and dont get me started on roof racks..
I've always loved the look of mk2's big bumper kit. I know there a kit that r&a make thats moulded for the mk1 shell so no cutting involved. Im thinking if it would be possible to add the side trims and g60 arches maybe!? or is it wishfull thinking… ops:
sweeeettt…….. 8) 8)

Oh and G60 arches are a big no no, I think there would be major work involed in getting them to fit and look decent. No reason why the side trims coulnt be adapted though.
So as stated, if its what you want go for it. As long as it looks nothing like that aweful photoshop your laughing (sorry, I'm crap myself with photoshop )
Dude is that your car with the smashed window??
If its out with the old skool, I'll buy any small bumpers you have for sale

Be proud of the old school look. The MK1 golf is what it is and origianal small bumpers suit them best.
I used to own a mk1 - well I've had 2 actually - YDU 720X & SMU 420Y. Currently I drive an 98 Scotia White Mitsubishi Evolution V RS…. fancy getting another mk1 someday

soo spent an afternoon looking round the web and spotted this example.(sorry if its yours) but i think its put me off the idea. Im up for being orginal an all that but its gopnna take to much work to get it looking right an im gonna get rid of the car in about a years time.
Maybe its the rallye lights, or the side skirts or the wheels.. but i guess it just doesnt look right!?…
Theres a nice example of a mk2 round the corner from me…dark grey, alloys, clean bodywork…it looks 8) !! Its only got the small bumpers but i think it would look quality with big bumper kit and some PHat 9x16's.
Yup thats my car in the pic rallye, took that pic the night i got back from the cop station….ex birds eh..

As to whether you go with the big bumpers, well I'm with kins on this one and think the Mk1 looks better with the smaller original items, but thats just me .
If we are talking Mk2's then I definitely agree the big bumpers improve the looks and "fill" things out a bit.
