Best fuel pump solution for 1.8t 20valve conversion

Well as title the engine is now in my mk1 and I need to think about a fuel pump solution (my car was originally a 1.1 carb model).

What is the best option, I've got a mk4 fuel pump but its too big to fit anywhere 8O I know people use gti tanks and pumps, are these ok up to circa 250bhp?

Just need a bit of guidance really

I used the bosch 044 and removed the acululator and replaced it with a high flow filter.

the 044 in all honesty was overkill the original 1.8 8v pump was man enough although mine's little inlet filter was full of swarf when i removed it.

hope this helps.

A standard GTI set up is more than enough, with or without the accumulator. The k-jet fuel pump can cope with a lot. Just make sure the standard fuel filter is correct for the engine type your putting in.

as above gti pump is good for loads of power.

with that you have 2 choices, either fit a late cabby, rocco or g40 shape polo lift pump and plastic fuel reservoir with your old carby tank, or fit a proper mk1 gti fuel tank with in built swirl pot (some cheap pattern tanks dont have them!)

you dont need the accumulator so bin that, fit a barbed m12x1.5 banjo adaptor and then you can use push fit rubber fuel lines or later vw plastic lines

Well I've got a gti lift pump so that should go straight in my carb tank?? Then gona use a big fuel filter and one of the Bosch 044 jobbies.

Don't suppose you remember what filter you used do you?

if its a mk1 cab or scirocco lifter then it'll drop right in yeah, mk2 one wont. any efi type inline filter will do, i.e. mk2 digifant gti or mk3. mk3 comes with a handy filter carrier which might be useful too you
