audi 1.8t engine

can anyone help me will a audi 18t engine fit in my mk 1. if so wat will i need to get it in.

it will need work, it doesnt just drop in... also what audi you looking at?

The Audi's inline, needs inlet mani and sump swap or something like that? IDK. There's a FAQ on this to trawl through.

A3 and TT are transverse so alot easier to mount, T4 etc are inline and needother mods like the manifolds and engine mounts, plus so dont have the holes cast for the transverse mounts iirc. so basically an inline isnt worth it.

I am doing this conversion for my Mark1 Cabriolet now as I picked up a Passat 1.8T engine very cheap.  You will need to change both inlet and exhaust manifolds as well as the sump and turbo, but as the Passat engine has an external water pump, the engine mount will bolt staight on. There is alot more work involved, so unless you can get the engine very cheap, stick to the transverse engines.
