All Reads are very expensive for what they are and suffer badly from scene tax. I managed to hold on long enough to find a set on ebay for ?30.00. You'll be luck to find them that cheap though but it's worth waiting about and keeping your eyes peeled.

If you can't wait you can always paint them red with that spray you get in Halfrauds.

hi guys thanks for the replies, ?85 from just matz doesnt seem too bad to me considering what some people pay for those punto lexus lights which stick out 5 inches. Might buy some mats aswell and see if i can blag a discount.  :D

Have you thought about getting red film from Lamin X and doing it yourself to some m3 crystal rears?  Here's mine I did last week:-

I got a sheet of red film from Lamin-X (site as in above post).  It was the 12" x 16" I think.  ?19 for that size.

Was easy to fit and comes with a knife and squeegee too.  :)

The lights do flash red/orange but they look cool so it's worldy!  :)

I fitted the film to FK M3 crystals and am really happy - the film is nice and thick and is simple to apply - a bit of heating and trimming here and there and job done!

thanks for all the replies guys, the film idea does sound like a cost effective solution but the reason im buying in the first place is because my standards are cracked and chipped. Think i will go crazy quiffs when i get paid  :D

If you want your indicators to flash amber through the red tint, just use green coloured bulbs, green and red make orange

Hello chaps :)

The light/reflector design plays a part in what colour/style bulbs are needed to have an orange flash.

For example, mk2 golfs are fine with green bulbs, whereas corrado's require orange led's and resistors.

At a guess, with the series 1 style rear lights being small/compact then green bulbs should be ok id imagine.

I can help on which led's/resistors are needed if anyone needed to know.

What would you recommend for my lights Neil?  I covered the clear part of my m3 crystals in your film so would a green bulb work for mine?
