air ride MK1 golf

with the new year comes more enthusiasm (+ money!) to put golf back on the road - YAY! It's been a long time coming…

few years back I considered turning the car into a euro lowrider with beige/brown exterior and touches of chrome. This idea has come back with a few colour changes made. Trouble is I have searched + searched for the company who supplied air struts to fit mk1 golfs - but to no success.

Anyone know of the company or one similar? The whole setup I was looking at was totally reversible as I didn't want to hack the car to pieces. The front susp struts were complete units with the air bag replacing the spring. The rear  required the springs to be removed and airbags put in their place. The kit was super neat and retailed aroung 900 quid (at the time)

If anyone has any info / advice would be most grateful!

Cheers

I found some, from USA:

You might be able to search around similar firms, to find a ready-made kit for the Mk1 Golf. Otherwise, you could buy a generic kit and make up brackets, adapters, etc.

There is a dutch guy (might be DrLow actually) with a cab on air ride.
Made some modified struts to get extra low - very good thread with loads of info and pics of his work. Was either on here or Ed38…
