9A 2.0 16V engine bay loom?

im having a nightmare with my engine bay loom for my 2.0 16v 9A engine, is there a premade loom you can buy that is plug and play? i dont really have any spare cash at the moment but i figured id rather spend a bit on a premade loom and save time/stress repairing and remaking my current loom (which is already made to plug straight in, but is in a bad state)

for this fusebox

as above and do you still have the original engine bay loom from the mk1  i have just fitted mine two weeks ago, i had to gut the outer sheaf of of the looms to check all the wires so i know exactly how your feeling mine is all in and sorted now.

im no good at remembering what management mine is, it confuses me lol, how do i know what mine is and i will tell you? the car came with a mk1 16v converted loom ready for my 9a but it was in a right state, so no i dont have the original mk1 gti engine bay loom, just the converted one which looks like its missing a few bits

£90 for a mk1/2/3 based conversion loom, march 2012 i think would be doable

I can't tell what engine management you're using off those pics, I'd need to see the engine and fuel injection components etc. Your wiring is the older style continental fuse, and it appears there's a number of bodges and small issues to sort out too. My car is the same, and works fine, I used K-Jet and didn't really need to alter any wires in the engine bay, just move things around a bit.

what about these bits? i bought these seperate to the engine itself, as the engine i bought was beig ran on carbs

thats kr management, you can tell by the ecu, also the 9a management doesnt use a wur :)

looking at the state of your fusebox, it wants replacing as at least 2 of the pins are badly burnt out. if i were you i would convert it to run the later style blade fusebox as its much better to work with and more reliable.

it can be made to work with the old fusebox, but looking at the state of it you'll want to have all the loom out anyway to check it over properly!
I do have a few random late spec mk1 bits lying around spare as i just converted a late spec mk1 to use a CE2 fusebox, so that would be handy for you i think. doing an entire loom conversion would cost 180, but if you can find a good set of early car looms then you can install that and i'll make the kr loom fit that.

let me know what you think anyway!

thanks again rubjonny, your a legend, so for £180 would that be a full loom supplied ready to plug and play? or would you need the original looms supplied by me?

either way i cant do it at the minute as im all out of money and have lots of other things to pay for over the next few months, so its gonna be at least january before i go ahead with it, but if its as simple as plug and play then i will definitly get one from you to save the hassle

another question, you say my management is KR, would the loom you make be to adapt to that or would i need to buy 9a management to fit your loom? im crap at this kind of stuff

i would need the old looms to base the new ones on, putrely for the layout plus there are several different dash switches over the years so i need the connector housings to put on the new loom.

it';ll be plug n play once im done, jan is about the time i would actually have the time to do the thing anyway as i say i have 10 already in the queue

send the stuff when you can and you can pay when its done/you can afford it, no need to pay up front. i can make it either 9a or kr its up to you, but obv kr would be easiest since you already have the injection system for it plus the ecu loom etc :)
