2L 8V 2E ENGINE MODS

Hi all, i am fairly new to this forum. i would like some advice on a 2l 8v 2e engine. what mods could i do to make a little more power. any help would be greatly appreceiated. many thanks....

                                                   im running a 2l 8v with kent cam and port and polished head its an easy install and good power gain compaired to stock without tomuch hassle.

hi mike , thanks for your reply, well basicly i bought this 2e motor to replace the 1400 carb motor i currently have. so before i put in the new motor i want to mod it for more power, so what can i do ? thanks..

Mike, I've got a standard 2E in mine and was thinking of doing exactly the same as you. I think its a Kent GS2 cam I was going for and cleaning the head up myself. Could you tell me if the cam affects the low down torque and do you still get a reasonable tickover, also the fuel consumption, what sort of mpg do you get. Are you running it with the standard throttle valve, WUR and exhaust. Any info would be much appreciated.

i'm running a piper 285 which i think is similar to the gs2 in my cabby gti with a 3a bottom end.

i don't know what it'd be like with just the bottom end ref the tourque, but i can say that with mine theres loads of torque low down but then about 4k it really starts to rev.

i also have a p+p'd head, audi tb, 16v wur and tubular manifold though so all this will also help.

Thanks gOg. I've got a Mk2 throttle valve, 16V WUR and a vernier pulley so I think I'll look out for a cam now.
