2 golfs and a polo..Help please

Lol ok guys ill fill you in with what we've got:

Sammy Summo Mk1 been converted running a 1.8 carb engine out a rocco gt2( used to be a small block mk1)- Project

Mickey Mk1 Series one small light model with a seized 1.1 rusted beyond saving:( - Donnar
Pete Polo mk3 coupe with a 65k 1272cc 5 speeder set up for it, new clutch and few other bits just needs the head gasket done.- donnar

Now we're re building sammy summo as a weekend/shows/toy car that we'll share some how between us lol. Now the questions start we want to put the engine from the polo in the golf for insurance/tax reasons. What do wee need to keep from the two donar cars to be able to do this downgrade to the smaller block?

My worries are:

steering rack
wiring
engine mounts
Manifolds

I bet there is lots more wee need to concider so any any help will be great guys thanks.

keep the rack the same as you dont need to change it, u will need to change the gearlinkage all the way up to the car, but i doubt youll beable to get 5th gear due to it fouling on the exhaust, alot of ppl just use the 4speed gearbox, use the golf gearbox mounts, and use all themanifolds eetc of the gt engine, i have not got a clue about the wiring as i ran mine on carbs so somebody else can help you out here.

should b ok then mate, use all the engine mounts of the golf and gearbox mounts, all the wiring should match up for the starter and alternator, if not its not too hard to work out.
