17" alloys on a mk1?
Hi all, just a quick question. Can i fit 17" alloys onto my mk1 golf clipper?.

with some arch removal probably.. and NO, please don't do it
The Mk1 is too small a car for 17's IMO
I must be getting old because I see 17-18 yr olds putting they're 17-18-19's (and 20's on a Nova!! 8O ) on they're hatchbacks and it looks so wrong! more wheel than car
Just my view! biggest wheel for the Mk1….15inch!
I swapped my standaed Zetec-S wheels thinking that 17's would look good.. I'm currently driving a rollerskate that rubs on every arch! (although on the forum was stated no mods needed)

Fitting large wheels and tyres on a mk 1 can also lead to the failure of the steering rack mounting points - very bad news.
