16v throttle cable

Hi guys,

I bought a new mk1 gti throttle cable as Ive heard its the easiest one to use. But am I missing something at the bulkhead? And whats the best way around modifying the throttle end?
Engine is a mk2 1.8KR 16v.



I was just going to cut the end bit of the cable off and cramp on a bit of metal to lock it off?

Use the stock Mk1 cable but make your own cable clamp to shorten it. I used a couple of small electrical terminal blocks, and they've held strong for a couple of years so far with no issues…..

Yeah thats what I thought.  Am I missing something on the little pink bit ggoing through the bulkhead as it doesnt sit very well on mine?
