16v throttle body on 8v help

Has anyone done this mod?

I'm just finishing off my 2.0 8v conversion, AGG bottom end, k-jet ported and polished head, ported and polished inlet and exhaust manifolds and the inlet has been enlarged to take the bigger throttle body. What i need help with is on the 16v throttle body that i've got there is no vac pipe fitment under the idle screw can i hook this up somewhere else so it will work or do i need to get a audi throttle body?

Thanks Steve

On my 16V the Vac connection is on the plastic intake pipe.

I've heard of people going to Audi T/Bs but I never thought the 16v t/b fitted the mk1 inlet?  Havent compared them tbh, easy job?

mk2 16v throttle does fit. the throttle cable has a different link though. i cut and shut a mk1/mk2 16v one to fit. cannot recall about the vac pipe? the 16v retards ignition electronically, so it makes sense that there wasn't one. the only place i can think of where i may have put it, is on the plastic vac connector with the two pipes sticking out of it. the one above the rocker cover.

….helped by a MAP sensor in the ECU, though.

Thanks for the reply wooders, i was thinking of putting a mk2 throttle cable on to get round the problem with the linkage and i can put the vac pipe into the pipe your on about too. How did you get round the switch sensor for closed throttle?  The 16v one has 3 pins the 8v 2

Thanks Steve
