16v isv wiring

having a few problems wiring in the isv as i have finally got the control module for it.

1. the black wire on the throttle switch goes to an ignition live but where is best to connect it

2. the black wire on the vac timeswitch should it go to the starter solenoid or on the wire for the 5th injector

3. do i need to connect the black wire from the control unit to the fuse box or can i connect it somewhere else

many thanks

had a go at this today and think i have it wired in ok

1. got this on the coil along with a black yellow wire. on same terminal as the ecu wires

2. spliced this on to a red black wire on the 5th injector

3. have got this on the fusebox on terminal g2

i have just replaced the fuel pump with a corrado 16v unit so it didnt fire straight away but it seems to idle alot better when it did

1. factory its D/7 pin on fusebox. can use one of the G spades, or wherever is easy tbh

2. black wire goes to 2nd spade on starter motor, same place black wire goes to on 5th injector. do NOT splice it to the red/black on the thermoswitch, otherwise the starter will fire every time you floor it

3. factory is A/25, but again wherever is easy

cheers for that good job you said, the thing is there isnt a black wire on my 5th injector and the starter dosnt have that wire on either.

should it go on the green white wire then or should i wire the fith injector to the starter and connect this aswell

the green/white wire should go to the 5th injector thermo switch, then there is a red/black wire from the thermoswitch to the fusebox (starter feed)

the other wire on the 5th injector should be black, and it goes direct to the 2nd spade on the starter motor as does the wire from the vacuum switch on the air box. if the red/black wire on your 5th injector goes to the 2nd starter spade thats fine, just had a repair/replacement at some point

see my sig, g2krecuce1.pdf complete diagram there for you :)

been looking at the diagrams at great legnth but ive got a mk1 loom and trying to fit the isv to that so not the same on the diagrams. only has red black and grn white wires for 5th inj

so do i dissconnect the red black wire from 5th inj  and wire that to the starter 15a along with black wire from vac switch like mk2

indeed, sounds like the mk1 5th inj was spliced direct to a cranking feed. this is fine until you want to add in the cold throttle enrichment valve because as i say if you floor it the starter will fire that way :)

Hi Rubjonny,

have wired mine up as per diagrams and as mentioned above on my MK 1 Cabby 83. However the ISV doesnt seem to power up. Have tested with a brand new valve and an old second hand one. Does it have anything to do with the '244' relay having 2 black wires out the back of it? i have one black wire spliced onto the A/25 which links to L/1. What am i missing?

have you checked the black wire is actually live? maybe the fuse has gone. check the earth is good too it should run to the side of the head as its also used as a reference earth for the coolant temp sensor. check the wires on the isv, one of them should be ignition live
