16v engine swap

just bought a 1.8 16v engine to put in my mk1  :D  but nothing seems right. After looking at all the threds none of the mounts look no where near similar. I know i need to get rid of the power steering so i need to change the waterpump and pulley. I going from a 1.3 carb so i need the mk1 gti tank and pump and will need the 16v conversion fuel lines. So after discovering all of this and now having no money or car to drive im wondering if its worth it  :dontknow:  Any help please even if someone could email me some pics or advice i would be greatful  :banghead:

The engine uses the mounts that are on the mk1 engine. the engine mount on the drivers side chassis leg on a 1.3 will need cutting off and re welding on further along.

The mounts on the MK2 engine need to come off so you can fit the mk1 mounts to it.

You need the tank pump and lines from a gti, you will also need a 16v manifold from ashley or dub power for around £250 to £300. this is the most expensive bit.

Brakes could do with an upgrade but this can all be got off an MK2 16v.

Wiring loom is needed from 16v too with ecu. needs splicing to original loom.

If you do it yourself it can be easily done on a budget.

Plently of info about.

the threads are on the gearbox so you can bolt up the rear engine mount :)
