16v Conversion Woes. Very poor cold running.

Some advice if possible guys. I have a couple of issues with my 16v conversion.

Firstly it runs terrible when its cold. Starts first time but runs really badly and if you attempt to put any throttle on it just cuts out. Once it warms up it runs fine.  I've checked and changed the WUR and ICV.

Secondly: Now the timing is bang on but when i try and set up the CO2 the best I can get at 950rpm is 1.45% as any futher adjustment results in lower rpm and the idle screw is already at maximum adjustment and if I try and turn it any futher it will come out the TB.

I'm assuming this is all linked to one issue. The ICV buzzes fine when iginition on. Could the Idle controller be knackered?

Any thoughts people?

Cheers,

Craig.

So static timing perfect yes? all lined up.
what about Igntion timing? with a timing light
check for any air leaks inc vac lines.
when mine was bad i adjusted ign timing to 7degrees advance then adjusted co - 2.0%  and adjusted idle to suit. ran fine after/better adjustment

What were your cold and hot control pressures from the WUR ?
Did the pressure rise fairly linearly ?

could be temp sensor for the ecu or isv controller. there are 3 n the side of the head and they should all be the same black collar senders. swap the wires round and see if that effects anything. the red/yel wire is for the dash so you could swap it to the other 2 senders and see if dash reading changes.

look all around the engine for split hoses and air leaks, look inside the folds of the inlet boots too they like to split where you cant easily see

Temp sensors are all new jonny.

I've been doing some work on my MK2 16v today and noticed that the ISV buzzes a lot louder than the one on the cabby.

I'm pretty sure its the ISV controller thats at fault. When I get time i'll swap the one out the MK2 into the cabby and try it.

I'd try the isv as well as they can pack in. were the temp senders gen vw? as the pattern ones can be a bit rubbish. as i say you could swap your red/yel wire to each of the others when its warm and switch ign on, see if dash reads about the same for all 3 :)
