1300 performance
right then. as some of you my mk1 is a rat.
i'm currently at uni, and i basically have no money. so an engine conversion is out of the question currently.
currently it has stright through pipes.
is there any way to increase performance on basically no budget ?
is there a performance cam i can use ?
any ideas ?

Simple answer: no
Bear in mind, as soon as you start modifying for performance, even if the modification itself is cheap to do, the insurance increase will make it uneconomical for you (student/young person).
The only hope you have is to reduce weight of the car, but you'd need to declare these too, as 'modifications'…..I can't think of anything excessive which could be removed and fall under teh radar of needing to be declared, or being something you'd miss on the car too (its your daily car right?)

i guess all i can really do then is get it runbning as sweet as possible with it being standard.

the wheels are 13x8 wrapped in 165/55

You could mount those tyres onto 5" rims and save a bit of weight…and the car would handle much better.

in all fairness it handles really well, and acceleration isn't that bad either, i reckon it accelerated faster than my old 1.4 16v clio.
