1.8t aeb engine
hi
i am in need of some help
i am looking to do a 1.8t conversion to my 83' golf gx, i have been told that the aeb engine code block slots straight into the engine bay using the he 1.8gti engine mounts
would just like some confirmation on this before i go ahead and purchase this engine

If the aeb is an inline engine then yes it will accept the mk1 golf big block engine mount, but you have to change various other items on the engine to use it, the transverse engines are easier to use and only require a modified engine mount that bolts to the big block chassis. g/box mounts are dependant on g/box used.

There is someone on here using the aeb engine i believe in the projects section, maybe some info in there for you, if you can get it at a good price then maybe worth changing the parts over.

Yeah to use the inline engines you'll need to at the very least swap the turbo, exhaust manifold, sump and a few other bits.
